Youth Leadership Programme participants’ prototypes undergo the final assessmentNov 14, 2017
On 14 November, UNDP Country Office carried out the final assessment of prototypes developed by the Youth Leadership Programme (YLP) 3 participants.
During this gathering, the YLP 3 participants took the opportunity to present their prototypes to the expert panel for the last time before the selection of the finalists who would represent the country in the regional YLP3 workshop. It was an interactive event, comprising presentations of the prototypes followed by constructive feedback by the experts.
The prototypes developed by YLP3 cohort in UAE span across various areas within the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. They tackle such issues as mental health awareness, waste management system improvement, matching education with future market needs, promoting women’s entrepreneurship, and others.
Mosharaka, UNDP’s regional programme on gender equality and women’s empowerment launched the Youth Leadership Programme ﴾YLP﴿ in 2015, based on the vision that young people are a key resource for solving the problems of development in the region. YLP was launched to support young men and women from across the region to explore innovative approaches to addressing sustainable development challenges.
This round, YLP aims to support and empower young change-makers to accelerate their innovative, impactful and sustainable development solutions, which could take the form of social enterprises, non-profits, NGOs, initiatives, or campaigns. With a special focus on gender equality and women’s empowerment, YLPIII participants work towards achieving SDGs in the Arab region.
The regional YLP3 workshop will take place in Cairo in the beginning of December. Only the very best ideas will be chosen to represent UAE in Cairo. The finalists of the regional workshop will get global exposure, funding opportunities and will be awarded a Changemaker’s Award.Contact information
